My Story
I’m Staci West.
At 49, a friend who works in integrative nutrition mentioned that hormones and nutrition were connected. I figured I’d be responsible about it and get a baseline.
I was nowhere near baseline. My testosterone was nearly zero.
Suddenly there was an explanation for the depression. For the rage that arrived and left minute to minute. For standing in a meeting unable to retrieve a word I’d used ten thousand times.
I wasn’t falling apart. I was moving through an enormous physiological transition that nobody had prepared me for, and that nobody had thought to check.
I found help quickly, but only because I happened to know the right people and happened to ask the right question on the right day.
That’s luck. And luck is not acceptable as a system.
The more I learned, the angrier I got.
Not because the science doesn’t exist. Some of it does. But there’s far less of it than there should be, because for decades women weren’t included in the research that shaped what your doctor was taught. And what does exist isn’t reaching the women who need it. It’s locked in journals, buried in jargon, or cherry-picked by an industry that profits from keeping women anxious and searching — as long as the answer arrives in a supplement, a weighted vest, or a subscription.
Women are told they’re crazy. Then they’re sold something.
I’m not interested in either one.
Here’s the part that turned out to matter.
I’ve spent nearly 30 years taking complicated, high-stakes technical information and making it usable by people who need to act on it — inside institutions where the gap between what a document says and what actually happens in a room has real consequences.
I know how to read a study. I know how to tell the difference between evidence and a marketing claim wearing a lab coat. When I turned that on menopause research, it was the most useful thing I owned.
I’m not a doctor and I will never pretend to be one. What I am is the person who already did the digging, and who will tell you the truth about what’s solid, what’s uncertain, and what’s being sold to you.

The Bottom Line
No Filters. The truth, including the parts that are uncomfortable, unclear, or not yet settled. You can handle it. You’ve been handling worse with less information.
No Shame. I spent decades in it. I’m not going back, and I’m not letting anyone who finds their way here stay stuck there either.
No Limits. On what’s possible when a woman finally gets the truth about her own body. On what an organization unlocks when it stops losing the women who know the most.
